Peter Abbott , from London, married to a Finn and ended up living in Finland. While here I met another ExRMP also married to a Finn, Gordon Watson Sqd 564 Woking, I was Sqd 616 although we never met. Small world don't to think. Anyway with two kids  it looks like I am here to stay as Gordon is. Update: Gorden has now passed away 2022 RIP. I forgot to mention I served in Shape France, Germany, and UK.

Born and bred Yorkshire man, lived there until age 2 then went to Egypt with mother and father army posting,back to yorkshire lived there until joining armyRMP 1964 served RHinedhalen and detached Grobbendonk,married 1966 on the very day we won the world cup,one son born 1969,moved to 156 Colchester in 1969,served NI for mandatory 4 months Original 17 on board Hartlandpoint and Maidstone,discharge 1973,went to work for petrol retail company for 12 months then to Michelin tyres as supervisor making cycle tyres (24000) per 24 hour day.Redundant worked for myself as painter and decorator until retired early ill health,still married same lady,grandson age 2 1/2.now enjoying retirement after heart Bypass.painter artound Stoke On Trent now live Redruth Cornwall and have done for 11 years.

I even fell off Mount St Hilarion in the early 60's and have pictures of the climb. Spent eight weeks in Dhekelia BMH, cracked three vertebrae.

G'Day Dave, I spent some time in 101 Pro Coy (late 61_62) I was in Dusseldorf and then posted down to the Advanced base at Grobbendonk. I wasn't there long as I was posted back to the depot at Woking. I got smashed a few times on that TRAPPIST beer, potent stuff that.
I got married 1964, we had 2 sons ( I now have 3 Grandsons) and migrated to Adelaide South Australia 1969. where we have been ever since. I ended up as National Marketing Manager for a South Australian Tap maker and did very well. I have travelled extensivley throughout Australia and other parts of the world. I am now retired. We have a caravan and I play Golf. In fact we are going on a golfing trip this coming weekend. We will be away for only a week this time. We are going to a place called Mildura, which is in North West Victoria, some 480 km's away. Administrator Stewart and I trained together in R7 squad. he lives in a small New South wales town about 1400 km's from me. I hav'nt realy spoke to him yet (I;m holding out that he will talk to me sooner or later) Well Dave it's time to go. I look forward to talking to you (or indeed anyone) again soon.

Yes I know it well. I lived in Croydon until the end of 2006 when I moved down to Newhaven so I could see the sea.

I went to Whitgift Middle School which used tgo be where the Whitgift Centre now stands.

Although originally from Netherton in Liverpool, when I left RMP I met my other half who is Cumbrian born and bred. I now live in Maryport, a small coastal fishing town, surprisingly the area of the town I live in is called Netherton!! I now work for the Highways Agency as a Traffic Officer patrolling the M6 through Cumbria - glorious landscape and I get paid for it!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Now live in Broadstairs,Kent. Have been here since 1980. Joined the Corps in 1974, having transferred from Blues and Royals. After training at Chichester, I was posted to 179 Provost company, In 1976 went to 247 (Berlin) Provost Company, 114 Minden Detachment came next.18 months later I went to London District for my last 6 months. Leaving in 1980 I joined Kent Police. 20 years later I retired. Became a gardener for 7 years and now have become semi retired having sold my business.

I'm in Northwest Leicestershire. A town called Coalville. The name used to say it all. A very large coal mining area. Sadly all the coal mines have long since gone and the town still has many redundant miners.
